Pali's Puzzling Puzzle.

Pali has shown me her puzzle, as well as the answers.
She says she has sent it to people over the internet.
I apologise to those people.
I am really quite ashamed of her.
Let's take a look at Pali's puzzle, with all its "extra" clues (I mean really...):

Pali - giving the clue that Dengo's hair is black, completely invalidates the clue that Nics doesn't have black hair.

Once you've filled in all the information, you think... Well, Nics can only have D brown hair, or L brown hair. Why don't I try both, and see what happens? Surely only one will work, right?
NOT SO.
Both options lead to a correct solution.

So, once I've found both my correct solutions, you'd think I'd be able to fill in the grid.
WRONG. There is no way to find the final information abou the food preferences.

Conclusion: Pali should leave puzzles alone, and concentrate on being the social butterfly she is.

IMPORTANT BIT

I have made a similar puzzle, which WORKS, and yields the final answer Pali wanted.
Here it is:
(This one is about the Konks instead of us)
Match each Konk to their order by height, favorite coffee, and their favorite day of the week.

Clues:
1. Annabel is the shortest.
2. The second tallest like Cappuccinos the best, but they don’t like Tuesdays. Nor do they like Wednesdays, because the lover of Wednesdays is Farren, and in height order, Farren is one taller than the person who does like Tuesdays
3. The person who likes Lattes, in the height order, is three places shorter than Toke
4. The person who likes Short Blacks does not like Saturdays, and the person who likes Mochas does not like Wednesdays
5. Doyle is not 1st, or 2nd in height order.
6. 1st in height order isn’t Jennings
7. The person who likes Instant coffee likes Thursdays best.
8. Jennings does not like Fridays best. The Friday person, in height order, is not one place above, or one place below the person who likes Saturdays.

Height order goes from 1 (tallest) to 5 (shortest)
The coffee types are: Latte, Mocha, Instant, Short Black, and Cappuccino
